Nathan Brownson
(1742-1796) was governor of Georgia for the last
few months of the critical year of 1781, when Georgia was
attempting to reestablish its government after the British
were driven out of Augusta during the America
Revolution(1775-83). He was the first physician to serve as
governor of Georgia.
This is silk with hand painted symbols on
the front. It came to us folded as you can see it looks to
have been kept folded. For the age it is an excellent piece of
historical memorabilia or Freemasonry items.
